Pazham pori also known as ethakka appam.
Whenever my parents go to Kerala, they get nendram pazham for me, and we will make chips, steamed banana & fritters..
My mom used to prepare these sweet banana fritters on occasions like an evening snack for us. Also during my stay in Kerala in my uncle’s house near backwater They make good fritters with cuttan chai & we enjoyed in drizzling rains.
- Nenthra Pazham – 2 no
- Flour – 1 cup
- Sugar – 1 tbsp
- Salt – to taste
- Rice flour – 1 tbsp
- Idly batter – 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric pwdr – 1/4 tsp
- Water – as required
- Oil – for frying
- Make batter with all ingredients & rest for 2 hrs in room temperature
- Cut the banana in length wise & dip into batter & fry in Medium to high flame
- Note: If you don’t have idly batter add a little bit of baking soda.
- Don’t add old idly batter. It will taste sour.
