Here is a dish which everyone at home will love it. Its super quick and easy.  Churros is a Spanish dessert and a variation of it is found in many cuisines. I have tried this over dozen times and it always comes out well.

You can prepare this within half an hour . I have made this without eggs so that vegetarians can try them as well.


  • Butter (salted preferred) – 2 tbsp
  • Water – 2 cup
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • All purpose flour/ Maida – 3/4 th cup
  • Oil for frying
  • Chocolate sauce for serving

For coating:

  • Castor sugar – 1/2 cup
  • Cinnamon powder – 2 tsp


  • Pour water in a pan and add butter to it
    Stir it well and bring it to boil (in case you are using unsalted butter add a pinch of salt at this stage)
  • Once the water is boiling switch off the flame
  • Add all purpose Flour gradually and with the help of spatula or whisk mix it well until it all comes together as soft dough
  • While the dough is still warm put it into a piping bag with a star shaped nozzle
  • Slowly pipe out the mixture on a plate or flat surface in desired shape or length
  • Ideally 3-4 inches looks good and easy to grab)
  • Let it rest for just 5 mins at the room temperature so that it dries up a little (which will help with crispiness)
  • Deep fry the churros on low to medium flame in small batches (to ensure they don’t stick together)
  • Take them out once turned golden

For coating:

  • Take a shallow tray/pan
  • Mix castor sugar and cinnamon powder well in it
  • Add our fried churros and coat them evenly
  • Serve them with warm chocolate sauce
