Gosht ka masala

Gosht ka masala is a simple yet delicious dish packed with flavor.

“Gosht” in Hindi means “meat,” and “masala” is “seasoning,” so the dish translates literally as “seasoned meat.”

You can choose the kind of meat you’d like to use for the dish.

Masala gosht goes well with hot, freshly made chapatis—Indian flatbread—as well as plain or Jeera rice. Add a crunchy salad like kachumber for a well-rounded meal!


  • Lamb curry cut 500gm
  • Refined oil 1/2cup
  • Onion 1cup
  • Ginger (chopped) few
  • Garlic (chopped) few
  • Turmeric 1tsp Red chill powder 2tsp
  • Garam masala 2tsp
  • Tomato chopped 1cup
  • Fresh Green chili (chopped) 5no.
  • Fresh coriander (chop) few
  • Water to cook
  • Salt


  • Heat oil in lagan or handi
  • Add onion, sauté well to get golden brwon
  • Add the lamb curry cut with chopped ginger and garlic, sauté well
  • Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, green chilly and salt, cook for a second
  • Add tomato and cook in slow flame till get mashed and oil comes on top
  • Give one boil and simmer till lamb cook
  • At last check seasoning
  • Add chopped coriander and garam masala stir well
  • Garnish with fresh coriander sprig and green chili
  • Ready to serve.
