My all time favourite dish is Crab masala. This recipe is very simple to make.

You should try this crab masala with rice you will need some time to finish your lunch.

This is my mom’s recipe. She cook’s very well.. of course all mom’s cook’s best food..

Do try this recipe you will not be disappointed..

Ingredients

  • Crab – 1 kg
  • Onion – 3 no’s
  • Tomatoes – 1 no’s
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Mustard seed – 1/2 tsp
  • Green chilli – 1 no’s
  • Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri Chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Oil – for cooking
  • Coconut – 1/2 (grated)
  • Black peppercorns – 2 tsp
  • Cumin – 1 tsp
  • Fennel – 2 tsp

Method

  •  Clean & wash crab. Grind the grated coconut, peppercorns, fennel, cumin & make a paste.
  • In a pan add coconut oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilli & sauté well.
  • Add onion & sauté well, add ginger and garlic paste.
  • Add tomato & cook well., Add dry masala powder  and salt with little water & cook well
  • After adding masala powder add coconut paste  along with water .
  •  After boiling  the gravy add cleaned crab & cook for 20 minutes with a lid..
  • Cook for another 5 minutes with open lid to dry the masala.
  • Finally add chopped coriander and serve.
